I'm happy with MPG

I just had had the STG 2 installed and a Injen CAI & before the CAI I was getting 19-20 in town & 29 on the highway & now after the CAI & get 23-24 intown & 31-33 on the highway now thtas at 75 to 80 MPH si I figure if I drove a bit slower I'd get a tad better.

I know this is not alot to some of you but after gettin 9-10 on the highway with my Tahoe this is great as I drove from Des Moines Iowa to Dodge Wisconsin on 2/3s of a tank.

I actually think you will get optimal mpg around 75-80....I know my brother does. He gets like 36-37 mpg in his 2.2 doing around 70-75.

When did this all happen, because we just switched back to summer gas and that alone has given me a 2 mpg bump. Just saying not to be surprised next winter when your gas mileage returns to around 29 HWY.

I was getting like 22 mpg in town here then when I installed my Injen Intake and my Magnaflow catback on my 2.0 SS/SC I now up to around 26-27 in town. Im loving it. Im shooting for the gm stage 1 kit with a billet flow 3.15 so im sure its gonna drop back down a bit though.

Nothing to do with the gas. The outdise air si colder and denser which means that the car has to mix more fuel to cope with the higher density air - less MPG. Up here in northern Ontario, there is a difference between summer and winter fuel (Not petrol) - the winter diesel has additives to lower the cloud point and gel point of the fuel. Some carriers will also add ethanol or isopropyl alcohol to prevent gas line freeze ups in their customers cars.

I get about 32 MPG on flat roads with the cruise set to 70.
I get 26-27 mpg with my normal driving.

That's about right, your optimal point should be about just under 3k RPMs in 5th gear, which is about 75-80 in my LS

Grandpa don't have much to do with it, you just must not stop and go alot, especially in hilly areas. As long as you can cruise in 3rd and 4th in these cars they do fine for gas, 1st and 2nd blow...

I have a 3" pulley and if I drive like grandma I can get 28 in the city. I usually get 22mpg in the city driving moderately hard. Never done any highway driving to see what I would get.
