Injen CAI Install Question
Has anybody tried installing the intake by removing the front bumper? I am putting my intake on tomorrow and I was reading through the directions and Injen recommends removing the front bumper. In the Injen pictures you can clearly see the tire is still on and the installation happened with the bumper off. Just wondering if this would be more or less difficult than removinng the tire and wheel well liner. I have an SS s/c just for reference.

I know that removing the wheel and splash guard is the generally accepted way to install the intake, I just wondered if anyone has tried the install by removing the front bumper. Everyone seems to have had success by removing the wheel but I wondered if anyone had chosen to be different

No didn't try that way but I called Injin about fit problem. it will hit on the outside fender (filter) you need to make a bracket out of a piece of stock to move the mount back 11/8" & put the forkside on intake to backside of bracket Also told them about doing it thru fender they said might be a little harder for some

Same here and I also took the headlamp assembly out so I could see any fitment issues with the hood closed. Install was pretty simple. Taking the whole bumper off would be too much work.
I also made custom bracket to space out the intake so I would have no clearance issues.
Pics and info can be seen in the other thread I made.

Hope that helps
