Thanks Doc! Thats what we need more of.... Pictures! Can anyone else get a pic or 2 of there install, and actually point out the difficult parts, so other people will learn about them, and possibly how to avoid them? Forums like this are for joining together, and learning.

This is actually the beginning of the end I didn't get any pics of trying to put the filter in without it hitting, it required both of us to do it.

I would be scared to install a CAI on a 06 SS, since the air fuel ratio is alreday lean in stock form ! K&N clearly says that their CAI is for the 05, not the 2006 !

my a/f ratio was high below 3200 rpm, like 14, after that is was around 10. It stayed there until the end of the run. Is that good or bad..??
Dyno pull

actually, this is from my first set of runs. I don't have the a/f ratio for the second set.

maybe this is why it was a PITA to install....I didn't notice a difference in the body from the 05 and 06...

I was kinda of wondering why mine was for an 05...I bought mine from Ptuning.com and they said it was the same thing I thought they would both be the same but maybe not. But I haven't had any CEL lights yet, so hopefully it will stay that way. The location of the mounting point might be a little different. It may be higher because I believe that if it was a little lower, the filter wouldn't hit at all. And I am definately gonna have to try the hose trick to keep my intake from rubbing right there where it passes through the inner fender panel.

Yea, I scraped the hell out my my intake the first install, 2 weeks went by, and I have taken it back out to reinstall it. I have major rub in about 2 areas where I now have indentations in the intake(if thats a word). Now that everything is apart, i'll finish it up in the morning...with plenty of pics. As far as mounting it without the filter rubbing, that wasn't to much of a problem before, has anyone got it so the filter isn't touching the side of the bumper at all? Do you just bend the bracket a little? Hope I get some tips before I wake up in the morning

As far as the gains go, I am very impressed, especially at high rpms. If you are trying to choose between Injen and K&N go with Injen, just be prepared to deal with some fitment issues. I had my Intake in for 2 weeks with no CEL
