Injen OR RD Fabs?...
Injen OR RD Fabs?...
all right guys im debating on these 2 intakes onjen or d fabs. i wanna hear what u think of both & which one is better performance wise & wut one gives a louder sc whine too cause thats important too lol
so let me know wut u think kay
March 7th 2010...
well...OTTP is out of the question for me cause its $250
ZZP is also out of the question cause i dont like the fact that its a 2 piece. the price is great but dont want the 2 piece.
Rebel is $300 so thats just def out of my price range lol
so now its DEF. between RD Fabs or Injen.
I can get injen from turbotech for a great deal(price match cause i found it cheaper sumwhere else) and the rdfabs is def in my price range. at the end of march i am doing the stage 2 upgrade from ottp so i basically want the best thing for that. later on I am planning on getting a header/downpipe,full catback exhaust & thats pretty much about it. so nothing to big but just right
if u have ne suggestions on those mods as well ne help would be greatly appreciated as well
thanks for all the thoughts so far...keep em comin please!!! =)
thanks

OTTP will be the best and the loudest whine.
If you're deciding between injen and rdfabs, rdfabs all the way.
The injen is made of soft aluminum and will eventually wear through if it makes contact/rubs on anything.
RDFabs is stainless, so no worries.

RD Fabs is a better intake, but a little big if you plan to leave the car mostly stock and not tune it.
The only fitment issues on the RD Fabs intake is on certain 07's that had high brake lines. There are no fitment issues in the fender liner if it's installed correctly. The nice thing about the RD Fabs is that it's completely T304 Stainless and 1-piece. That intake will last forever...
How do you justify that statement? How is it louder than others?
Just busting your *****, but it is pretty funny if you think about it...

Unless I missed something and RDFabs is 3" diameter:
I installed an OTTP 3" intake for a buddy the other day. It was way easier to install than my rebel intake, and the whine is just as loud with an M62.
Not sure how much more justification it needs.
If the RDFabs is in fact 3", then wow, that is a really good intake considering its one piece.

1) 3" in diameter (same as OTTP)
2) T304 Stainless Steel (same as OTTP)
3) One-piece (arguably better, but really negligible)
OTTP Intake is a fine product, I'm just saying if you dyno'd one after the other on the same car, there will (more than likely) be no difference in sound or performance...
Hmm that is news to me. Guess I need to hang around the forum a little more lol.
I thought RDFabs was 2.5. Now that I know its 3", holy crap that is the intake everybody has been waiting for! lol

Yeah, that intake was fabricated on my car. The only issue there has ever been with it is that some Cobalt's brake lines off the "block" are higher than others. People can get it for even cheaper, I think, if they want to order it w/o a filter...
