To Install Yourself of Not To Install (Stage Kits)

Yea, yea, yea another Stage Kit Thread.. BUT this one is different. I just ordered mine and I wanted to know who will be installing it themselves and who will be taking theirs to the dealer? So the question is "To Install Yourself or To Not Install Yourself" That is the question?

And while your at it... let us know why, pros, cons.. whatever else that could help the rest of us out. Thanks for those who will participate

Two reasons. I don't want any hassles and it's my way of keeping my service manager happy and in the loop. He is easy going and if I let him in on what I am doing he has told me that he is okay with me doing mods without him wanting to not do warranty work in the future. A small price to pay when he can be easy going or a pain down the road. And seeing that I am ordering the parts for my build this week I want to keep him

That is correct. Your kit better work properly along with your engine and tranny if you install it yourself.

I will let the dealer install it just to make sure that they cannot accuse me of messing it up if something goes wrong with the car. Its worth the labor charge to preserve 5/60 powertrain warranty.

actually coming from a person who works at a dealer, let the dealer install it. why risk the warranty and as someone stated above risk the powertrain warranty (although the supercharger is not covered under powertrain). plus you want the re-flash to complete the upgrade. the labor to install it is minimal and in most cases the dealer probably will let you take pics of the install to showcase. i doubt that they would let you work on it with them though due to liability.
