Installed Corsa Sport

Installed the Corsa sport exhaust today. i really love it. its deep, throaty, and when you get on it just lets loose.

also feels like a gained a bit of tourque at low rpms in 3rd and 4th.

install took a total of 1 hour and 10 mins and was really simple. the hardest part was cutting the stock exaust... but that was still simple. I'll try to get a video clip this weekend with some driveby's (i know there are a few, but another one can't hurt).

it's a bit loud in the cabin... but certainly no droning. it feels and sounds more like a race car

Getting mine on monday. Did you use a lift for the install? How loud in the cabin is it?

i did not use a lift.... and i was shocked that the install only took 1 hour. just some ramps and a jack on the side where the exhuast come out (driver side ) ... things are slower when you are working upside down on the ground.

well... at first start up... i was rather dissapointed with the exhaust.... then it started breaking in and a few revs sent metalic dust soaring thru the air. .... after about 30 miles of driving the exhaust really got loud.

you DO hear it in the cabin.. and it is very noticeable, despite what other ppl have said. BUT (and this is a big but), the sound is sporty and completely non-intrusive. you simply "hear" the engine better. no droning... no obnoxious backfiring.... just a mellow rumble in the cabin.

on the outside... a whole diff story. i was driving downtown around buildings and it echos really hardcore. every car you pass with the throttle open makes a "wwwooooooooo WOMMMMPPP... (another car coming).. woooooooooo WOMMPPPPP". im completely addicted to gunning it when cars go by and my windows down. :P

i would like to reiterate, NO DRONING. corsa did some quality research. hell, even the slant of the tip matches the body kit if you do it right.

edit: i'll get some pics up tomorrow.... but i have to borrow my friends camera for the sound clip... so that will be sat or sunday (SORRY FOR THE DELAY)

I get my Corsa sport on likely Tue and I'm thrilled, can't wait. Sounds like it's worth the $. How much cutting did you have to do and where...and what did you use....torch or hacksaw? I was quoted about $50 for full install from dealer.(not including cost of cat-back).....seems easier. Any suggestions?

def worth the money.
i used a saws-all (sp?) for the cutting. took 1 min to saw thru it. (not even)

u cut the exhaust 7 1/2" forward from the rear axel. that is just for removing it. the catback replaces the stock resonator right after the cat, and the rest of the piping is provided.
that is a good quote.... if you would rather not attempt it and have it done professionally, $50 is very reasonable.

it's really simple, however, and if you have the tools, go for it... a hack saw would go thru the stock exhaust very quickly

Cool thanks for all the info! You got me more excited about getting mine now!!!! I'm going to use ramps and a couple jackstands myself. I looked at the directions online and it seemed VERY easy to install.

Yeah, I watched the dealer do mine and the only part that wasn't completely easy was when he had to cut the old exhaust.

worked on it with a friend and he did the cutting while i was taking off the bolts right b4 the resonator. he beat me by quite a bit...... i think it just depends on what sort of tools you are using to cut

i would say the harderst part is wrestling the exhaust into place while you are clamping everything together. had to mess with things a bit to get a solid fit. ... not too hard tho.

So... Remz.. did i give you the correct advice and make u feel confident about the purchase. I told u so man. Money was definately well spent. When the rest of u guys get your corsa exhaust u will see why it's worth the extra money the research alone with the angles and bends in the exhaust to fit perfectly where the stock exhaust was and to use all the same mounting points with the rubber mounts and even going as far as making sure that there was no annoying drone in the cabin and to get the most hp out of it compared to all the others. Corsa

The exhaust doesn't drone until you go above 85 mph, then it gets really annoying. I traveled between 90-100 alot and it was too loud for me. Around town it wasn't bad but definitly not made for long high speed trips.

it has gotten quite a bit louder after a couple hundred miles

... quite a bit= A LOT LOUDER....

i was starting to get pissed cuz i thought it was ricey. now after driving all day and all night im liking it a lot.

windows down thru town or around cars is pure love. the SPORT is pretty damn loud after break-in tho. just a heads up.

sry for not havin my own video up. my friend with the camera was too drunk all weekend to walk

edit: also, my exhaust rumbles quite a bit more and is much louder than the clip. im having trouble determining if that is just me or the loss of quality thru a camera

^^ there will be a lot of love and hate for the exhaust, one day you'll like it the next you hear it bouncing off the building and think it sounds like poop. In the end its a 4 banger and is border line with the sport, but it does sound good at WOT past 2,500 rpms.
