Intake Idea

Well The Cold Air Intake.

Thats what I was thinking about for the past few days...

We have the Air Box Mod and the CAI's...

Well lets say we have the CAI and we want to put a 2nd one on there...Would it be harmful to the car.

And just so you know, I was thinking maybe drilling a hole and welding another pipe to the current pipe so there are 2 Filters sucking in cold air into the S/C instead of one.

I would think that would be to much cold air.

Ideas, Opinions suggestions please do so =)

well, some1 did it, he put a Y connector at the end, and said that the wine was way louder,,

but in flow of air,, is the same,, bc its going to the same diameter intake tube,, so you can do it,,, but it wont help in the HP

If you had a restrictive air filter, your idea might help. If you had an aftermarket filter that allowed enough airflow, 2 probably wouldn't do anything except give you more time between cleaning/replacement.

If one filter was in the engine compartment it would be sucking the hot air from there, defeating the purpose of a CAI.

And you can't get too much cold air, except maybe in winter!

If he sucked air from two different cold sources then he would be getting a lot more air. Doesn't matter if it's all connecting to the same tube, because the air will be moving much faster.

This is more beneficial to a turbo setup because it builds up more positive pressure before the trubo. Which mean's it doesn't have to work as hard to build up boost due to the increased air flow rate.

I disagree It will be entering the same amount only from 2 different sources, but I may be wrong,, hell is his car,, he can do as he pleases

Hmm that's odd.

As long as I leave the MAF sensor housing alone I can do anything I want before it.

But then again I drive a Saab..
