i did exactly what hes suggesting, had the intake cut open, ported to 18mm and converted to single pass. excellent reduction in iat2s no significant change in horsepower. im hoping that its increased cfm capacity will shine when i put a tvs on her.

Hopefully this week I will get to the intake. I got a little distracted with trying to polish a valve cover. lol.

I'll post some pics up as I do this to document the process. I think there are some pics already around of a ported intake manifold but to keep my project in one thread, I'll do my own pics and the process I followed.

As far as the design of the second half of my cooling system, I have not done any calculations on that to even know if it will be possible, so I will leave that out at the moment.

What kind of drop in IAT2s have you seen?

i have a zzp stg 3 he, option b, phenolic spacer and dual pass, averaged iat2s of about 10-15 over iat1s, went to single pass and they droped to 6-7 over iat1s and the highest 1 to 2 difference i see now is about 30 degrees after several back to back pulls. it also drops back to 6 over within a few seconds of letting off the gas. so all good stuff there just waiting for the next thing to make more power.

Wow, seems like everyone in Sask is designing their own LIM these days. Haha.

Lol. I guess! I have to revisit your thread to remember where to cut to open up the manifold.

Did you design yours like ZZP's or Powells?

That's nuts...the best I Ave seen with mine is 20* above ambient with the mods I have...I need to see if something is wrong. Most of the time I'm sitting about 25* to 30* above ambient and it pisses me off

thats really strange, your running e85 and cooling mods... id definately get a the work done on the intake manifold, pm euthanasia shouldnt be more than 500 bucks, all you need is a spare one to have sent out

My brother and I made two diff ones, a bar and plate air to water intercooler inside the stock setup, and an air to air setup. Both worked great but the community denied all accusations.
It's kind of funny actually.
And omega did an air to air setup that worked well too if I remember correctly

I'm kind of curious about your bar and plate setup. I'm not quite sure on what a Bar and plate style intercooler is. I'll google it here but I am interested on how your system worked.

I am still in the planning stages of the whole cooling setup so I am still gathering information to see what will work best for me.

Just looked up the bar and tube design. no worries on trying to explain it. I have a good idea on how they work now. I had it in my head that they were vastly different conceptually from tube and fin design.

The best setup was the air to air... I had a huge thread about it. LSU air to air problem was the name

Cool. I'll check it out. Flatgod around here has an air to air setup as well. It seems pretty tough to route all of the tubing!

unfortunatly even new ones don't look that nice. lol. It has been painted all over. Notice the coils on the alternator that are painted and the rotors of the supercharger that should be black.

I too wish my engine looked that clean though!

The lsj air to air problem thread has all the picks of piping routes and all. I didn't hide anything. And when on just air no meth my temps after consecutive synod runs were about 10 degrees above ambient.
With meth it was below ambient

Very cool. I am trying to design my setup so I don't use meth. I want to avoid it at all costs in all honesty. I know that it does drop IAT2's but I don't want my cooling system to run out and I don't want to have to refill tanks as my car is a DD.

every one asked for hpt logs to show that they worked but they were never produced so that lead people to believe that it never worked as well as said

Regardless whether the logs were produced, the concept is interesting. Another Option I will be looking into in the next couple months of this project.

I'm hoping to have this project done by the middle of May so I have some work ahead of me while the car is parked for the winter! lol.

Ya they asked a lot of questions. I told them if they called up Fred he could give the logs, but I don't have hptuners and don't have access to logs.
I could show video with my interceptors of the temps but no logs on my end, and really the community turned on me so quick that I didn't care, they think what they want. I share what I do and k.ow. I've got nothing to prove and I'm not making money on any of it so it doesn't bother me
