intense Stage V

Ive seen a few guys/gals around here with and intense stage 5, 60lb injectors, and a 2.8" whats the boost on a 2.8" first of all. but my real questions are:
1. How do you like the stage 5 tune any troubles?
2. does it take car of the intake code? if so should i wait to get an intake untill im ready to buy the pcm and stuff so i dont through the code?
3. could stock engines hold the listed above mods and maybe a 2.6" pulley also intake and exhaust

i had them do a stage 4 tune with 2.8" pulley on my second car last week. there are some issues with my tune, but i am also running a header, filter and exhaust(soon to be alky injection hooked up again). the header alone would be enough to cause issues on these cars. i've thrown a few codes but it was expected since i was using the premade program.

i set up an appointment in a couple of weeks to go back to intense for a custom dyno tune. if you have any other mods from stock and you get the intense kit, you will more than likely need a custom tune or need to put the engine back to stock to be safe. i doubt an exhaust would make a difference though, but our cars are extremely picky.

oh the boost was maxing out at low 17's according to the aeroforce. i think most people with a stock manifold are seeing around 18ish psi

Actually, the INTENSE stage 5 comes with a 2.5" pulley. Before the CAI and ported blower, I was making 19.5lbs of boost. My car is still having the water injection installed, so I don't know what it will be making after the CAI and a ported blower. Yes, these stock engines hold it just fine, see my sig for mods. Hope this helps.

oh yea i want one real bad im sellin the cavy first and getting one and aiming for 500hp, the only thing is i might have my friend and i do some kind of experiment and build a manifold and to a turbo change over or if i can get 300 with the charger ill just chill with that for a bit and do some research and trian and error....
where is intense located? i will have to do a custom tune then, or will i be better off with Hp tuners????
also idn how many people know, but can full boost launch or in this case launch control be programmed with either intense or HP??? for those who dont know a set rev at say 3k that bounches at wot when your at your light waiting for your green so when it turns green your boosted you just dump the clutch and it will bounch there for a few till traction then ride all normal rpms, give FWD better go go off the line

Yes, you can limit boost off the line with HP Tuners. Rob and a few others on here have with great results.

Kritter has this exact setup....and let me say, he's been smiling every since we did it. He happens to be stock otherwise, no intake or exhaust mods. He see's 15psi.

well i just ran into one of my really old friends tonight in an 04 redline (didn't know who it was until we got out and started talking) he was sitting beside an srt i raced a bit earlier, and appearently the srt guy was asking him if he knew who had the red cobalt around... cause i beat him pretty bad.

anyways, his redline with stage 2 kit and 2.8" zzp pulley loses to the srt i beat. in 95 degree weather and bad humidity the aeroforce gauge says i'm peaking at 277hp, and this is in really bad conditions. so between the improvements i've felt, beating multiple modded srt's (got beat by one pretty bad though lol) and knowing that my car is that much faster than a stage 2 w/ 2.8" makes me pretty happy with it.

their service is great and the guys know what they're doing from what i can see. i can't wait to go get the custom tune done to see how much better it's going to run

if possible i would go with hp tuners, because the tune is very important. but remember that a dyno tune would be the best way to go

since ur aiming for some big power, HP tuners will allow you to customize everything specifically to your car with the modifications you will have. the intense pcms are a great starting point, but are designed for otherwise stock cars, and of course bc they are designed to work for everybody, are still on the "mild" (if u want to call it that) side, so intense doesnt go blowin up everyones car.

and intense pcms are tuned with hptuners, so u could always get their tune for 100$ if u have hptuners as a great starting point
