dont I REPAT DONT. i put one of these on my 2.2l and fried my computer. thank god i was still under warranty. but i was installing it how the directions said to. pluged everything back in, connect my battery. then i turned my car to A/C heard my fan kick on, it was strange but thought it might be a good thing. went to crank it over and wouldnt turn. so took the piggyback chip off, pluged everything back in still didnt turn over. so my opion is dont do it, get a regular tune from either HPT, or trifecta. i did trifecta and i thought i was decent.

um how did it do that? I have one in my car and its been a nice alternative for those of us who dont wish to run the risk of voiding our warranties.

Is it the best option? No
Is it a viable working option? Yes
Did it provide an improvement on my 2.4? Definitely
Was it as good as a full tune? No
Is it easy as hell to install? Yes

I have both the stage I and II and am currently running the II and the difference in mid range power is definitely something you notice if you drive 2 cars back to back. (my family has a stock 08 so its fairly easy to track the progress of mine).

I wouldnt use it.

Pretty sure I remember a thread on here about these.
Bad things were said.

Heres one thread :

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l-l61-performance-tech-45/help-stage-2-jet-chip-asap-124805/

Maybe it works for some people, (like the guy above) yet, it also seems to mess up engines pretty bad.

I wouldnt take any chances.

I bought it off another member who traded his car and had good results with it. Ive had both the Stage 1 and 2 installed in my car with zero problems. If you plug it into the wrong socket then I guess it could cause issues. But neither gave me a problem.

Also I wouldnt put too much stock into someone who capitalizes the first letter of every word in a post.

And as was stated in the thread you posted think about how many engines might of been blown from hpt or trifecta or superchips or even full on custom tunes. Jet hasnt been around this long by making a shitty product. But unfortantely there are a lot of nutswingers for custom tunes who have neither the custom tune or the jet module.

Honestly Id like to see pictures of a jet module of all those who claim to have had one or those who say bad things about it without ever having one. I can gladly post up pics if need be to show mine installed.

Theres my review of the 10708S module on my 08 Sport Auto 2.4

For the most part I agree to be honest though which engine its going on has nothing to do with it. But that also depends on his overall goal with the car. For me my goal was to get as much power out of the car within the guidelines of the warranty. So the jet chip was perfect for me. But my cars an 08 with 26k on it and an extended warranty. Now if it was an 05-06 with no real warranty left on it you better believe it would have a full custom tune and more mods done to it.

But if the jet chip matches your goal for the car then go for it. But decide what you want from the car then begin to build it. Dont just throw parts at it to make it faster.

If you dont do it exactly right the first time, bye bye engine.
And reading about how many said they did it right, and it still messed up their car.
Also, I wasnt just going with the dude that posted that thread in the first place, read all the other comments. "Jet chip claims another car"
There is even more threads on here somewhere about that thing.
hah. Thats all i'm saying.

Did it actually add like 25hp for you? I think thats what I saw it said.

Whats to do wrong?

Definitely not 25hp. maybe 5-10. Though mid range is definitely improved as is power after 60. Im an auto car and im edging out 15.5 cars by about a car - car and half by 90. My only mods currently are the jet 2 module and an injen short ram intake. Its not the greatest mod to do but it will improve the car. Though im thinking anyone who messes up installing a jet module should not be working on cars as its not any harder than putting in windshield washer fluid.
