Just another stupid question needing an answer

I am sure that this is normal, but it seems to be getting worse. At idle does everyones boost gauge fluxuate between 18 and 20 on the vacuum side. Mine constantly moves back and forth between the two and my idle is doing the same. Like I said a stupid question, most cars don't idle perfectly at their intended idle rpms.

I noticed that with mine also. I believe I heard some saying that after getting a tune it slightly raises the idle and it levels out.

when does it do it? during a cold start in the morning? or does it always do it? theres a tsb for a surging idle. but the fact that the boost guage goes back and forth leads me to believe that your sc is bleeding boost on and off. also, maybe your boost guage can be messed up. are you noticing this with the AC on? off?

It moves slightly at idle w/o A/C all the time except when warming up. I noticed that the engine rpms slightly (I mean slightly) move to. The engine is idling a little rough, and the guage moves with the engine. It did it with the old stage 2 flash, and still does it with the new stage flash. It moves between 18-20, just slightly.

if that happens to you early in the morning, or after a 6 hour or longer start up. then its normal. but if it continues while the car is nice and warm then ill try experimenting with the gap of your spark plugs.

Yeah this has been a known problem for a while and it's an easy fix. There is a TSB about this problem so all you have to do is take it to the dealership and get the newest reflash. It's covered under warranty so it's free. This reflash also fixes other things like sporadic idle under A/C and other tranny calibrations etc. Just get a reflash.

After a few hours of being parked when i start my car up it will surge every time and die down within 30 seconds depending on how cold it is but my boost gauge wont be bouncing like u said. Thats weird. Let it run for a couple mins it should be fine. If not bring it to the dealer and if they cant figure it out to bad for them, demand a rental until they fix it.

Yeah that's perfectly fine, there is a newer updated reflash available even for us staged guys. I got it done, distillion got it done and a few others as well. Good to go my friend.

I have the latest stage flash (the one released in September 2006). just the Boost gauge flutters between 18 and 20 vacuum. It did it with the original stage flash, and now it does it with the new.

It is only when sitting at a light the car has a slight rough idle. Just like any other car that I have owned.
