just did my oil change... got a couple questions

First, what is the proper name for the part that is bolted to the end of the supercharger? Is this the MAF?
Second, is there any way to remove the oil filter without removing this part. I couldn't get my hand down in there at all. Finally removed the intake tube and this part and was able to get it.

Thanks for any info.

That's the Throttle Body. I have no idea. I let the dealership worry about that.

Yeah man, put the socket on the oil filter cap, by snaking ur hand under the throttle body. Then take an extension and feed it through from the top.

if you get a universal joint for your ratchet, you can use that and an extension bar, and come in from the top of the supercharger, at an angle. the uj will bend allowing a flush fit on the cap to unscrew it, then pulling it out the front of the engine through the hole beneath the sc seems to be the way to go to not get oil all over everything.

i'd be careful with the brakleen. that stuff is not too good for paint, and very bad for rubber hoses.

I've changed my oil myself twice already, never had to unbolt or remove anything (other than the filter).

Just get a 32mm socket and an extension and your set.

i'm sure it will be MUCH easier next time. I didn't have a 32mm socket, so I was trying to use a crescent wrench. Got it done but it was a pain.

It would be easier to just go out and buy a 32mm socket.. then to use a cresent wrench

yeah, but I had the car up on jack stands with the brakes off (painting the calipers) and decided to do the oil change while it was on jacks. Couldn't get to a store to buy the socket. I'll have it for the next time though.
