Yes, you can gap iridium plugs. You have to have a gapper that doesn't touch the center electrode. If you touch the center electrode you will damage it.
What I do is buy the BKR7EIX-11 plugs (they are gapped at .044") because it is easy to close the gap just a touch to get it to .035~.040 and you don't have to mess with a gapper. Just be careful to close the gap very slow so you don't make it too small because opening the gap is a very delicate process.
You should ALWAYS check gaps on plugs and adjust, even plugs that come factory gapped can be wrong. You just have to be careful not to damage the center electrodes on platinum and iridium plugs.
