K&N Filter install?

I just purchased the K&N replacement filter for the 2.0L SS/SC and I was wondering how easy it is too install? Can you get at the airbox for under the car? What is the procedure for installing the K&N air filter E-1009....I wanted a Typhoon intake but it is not going too be ready till Sept...(Modern Performance) So I am just going too run the in box filter for now! If you have pics could you post them as well? Thanx...Colin

You have to first remove the wheel, unscrew 5 or so screws, remove around 4 plastic plugs, then take off the splash guard for the wheel.

There are then a few more screws to take off the bottom of the airbox to gain access to the filter.

It's a pain

Just cut the damn filter off! lol. I did and now I have a CAI. I don't know about just dropping in a new filter but with what I did it sounds and performs better.

why cut it off if you can keep the stock upper box for warranty purposes, just mount a conical filter onto the housing!

The direct fit K&N is the E-0777, the E-1009 will need some work to fit.
