I offer larger idler pulleys, originally designed for the Grand Prix L67 but if someone wants to try one out on a Cobalt I'd be interested in offering a deal.

Nate

Here's a pic of the set I've made for the supercharger idler set of the L67...

Go to any aftermarket parts place and get a grand prix GTP idler pulley, they're cheap. Install it and take a good file and while the motor is running file down the inner edge until it stops contacting the arm.

Lets see, using a file on the idler of a running engine...just have 911 on speed dial because dialing 3 digits then pressing send may take too long!

For those of you interested, I am willing to do one for the first person interested for half price, 25.00. Normal price is 50.00 for an idler pulley but you get the benefit of it being light weight anodized aluminum, the bearings are replaceable so if something happens you can replace just the bearing, not the whole pulley, and of course they look amazing! The test fit may require the pulley to be shipped back to me to do some more machining if it rubs. Another option is you can grind down the arm where it rubs which would probably be easier.

Nate
