Looking to install zzp lth, how easy is it to do?

Installing it on an 07 ss/sc. First time doing a header on this car. Any tips or tricks to make for an easier install? I over looked ls1fbody's ott how to as a referrence since there isn't one for zzps specifically.

Thanks.

Hardest part is getting out the old header and downpipe because the bolts and nuts will not wanna budge. Just use some pb blaster or a little heat to help you get them loose. Getting the header in can be a little tricky but it's not hard. Has to go in from the top. It looks like it won't fit but it does. Then you'll just have to do some twisting and pushing to get it to pop into place

yea its pretty straight forward and easy to do. hardest part for me was getting the downpipe to bolt up to my aftermarket exhaust with the v-band flange. but those things r a pain in the ass anyways. other than that its easy as pie. lol

Did you install it on jackstands or was there a lift accessible?

If there valve cover doesn't have to come off thats a plus, is there anything else that should be removed for an even easier installation? Whats its take for time like a couple hours max? Also is there a gasket to replace or can it be re-used? Lastly where do I put in the factory o2 sensor and afr gauge sensor?

Thank you for all the replies so far!

Ah, I gotcha now. Yea if I can skip taking the valve cover off that will be good. I am probably going to do this swap this coming weekend. So anyone know where i plug in the o2 sensors at? Will there be one on the header and downpipe?

The header WILL slip in from the top with NO problems, it literally goes right in. You don't need a lift, i did it on jack stands

And you did not remove the valve cover either? This sounds nice and easy of a project for Saturday haha.

I am going to try to do this install today. I have heard of the V-band leaking in some cases. Is that from installation error or what?

Mine never leaked. Sometimes the flanges can be warped and if so its something the company should replace. Just make sure you tighten that clamp down nice and tight

Since I wanted to get my car dynoed and was also installing the downpipe, I took it to the local dynoshop and let their guy installe it. Good thing too, becasue one of the holes/bungs that ZZP put in the downpipe for one of the O2 sensors was positioned improperly where the O2 sensor would not fit. So the dyno guy had to get a plug and plug it and drill and weld in a new bung for the O2 sensor.

Just saw your question about the sensors. My ZZP Long Tube header came with the downpipe as a combo. The O2 Sensors all go in the downpipe. I purchsed the gasket set from OTTP, at the time ZZP didnt have a gasket where the two meet and people had posted problems with them leaking and Josh @ OTTP steped up with a gasket before ZZP did. One of the options is for an extra O2 sensor bung for a wideband. I recomend against this, as they incorectly positioned it in mine. The Downstream O2 sensor goes in the lil tube comming from behind the cat facing forward. The upstream sensor goes in the other hole. If you want to run a wideband either replace it with the downstream O2 sensor, and delete the downstream in your tune, or just drill and weld in another bung. Unless ZZP repositioned their wideband bung on their downpipes you may get it to fit if you got that option.

you can run it but id get a tune for intake if you can. It wont throw your trims off much but it will throw them off a bit.. plus you will gain the most from the add ons

Where did he drill and put the bung? I may have to do this to mine as I opted against the second bung but will need it for my wideband now...

I don't think positioning the wideband in the lower stream sensor place is gonna give accurate readings tbh...i might be wrong but its just makes sense to me that way as the tube will allow less air in at a slower velocity...

Had to do this to mine also. Put it in the collector right next to the bung for the front factory sensor
