Loss of power!!

Hey guys was wondering if you could help me out I have been having an issue with my car recently. When I floor my car or accelerate from 2rpm to 3rpms it hesitates and feels very slow like it's forcing itself to go. Then at 3 it kicks in and pulls hard but I'm only boosting 10-11 psi at most! I have an intake and just changed my filter today thinking it might be a problem. I used to boost 13psi and I'm not sure what's going on lately. Can anyone help me out and lead me in the right direction

Yeah I used to get from 12.5-13 psi on my stock pulley. Ever since the month after I owned it and installed the intake I was able to get that.

Checked my MAF today and cleaned it a bit. Never had a problem with it or any CEL's. I have 67,000 miles on my car and I have not changed my plugs, injectors, or fuel filter.

he says he USED to get 13,
Maybe he dosent anymore because of the increased temaptures due to the fact that it's getting HOTTER out as summer aproches.

Maybe he got 13 in the winter when the air is denser

Fml i didn't see u were a lsj. Look for a boost leak. Faulty Injectors seals. A bad maf will not do the lower boost unless he's in a engine power reduced mode. Look at your bypass valve and clarify its not stuck open..... There's more those are just throw obvious.. How hot outside is it with the 13lbs compared to your issue. Either the ambient temps. Maybe its just weather.

K I will check all of that and as far as weather goes its been 90 degrees and muggy and I have had no problem achieving 13psi. When it is very humid and hot of course my car will not reach that but I also do not put my car through that much torture. It is mainly when I get on an on ramp to the highway I like to floor it and hear the supercharger whine

what else is wrong w/ the car bro? did you remember to disconnect the neg battery cable from the trunk and put it back on for the Intake? plus if your running a CEL lemme know which it is.. i might have had the same prob as you are.. and you might have the same prob i was having when i first bought the car.

I'm not currently running a cel the only time i got a cel is when it would rain very hard and my AEM filter (Hate this filter just switched to the K&N and it poured last night all was fine with my car) would get wet thus having my car hydrolock. I did unplug the battery as that is a must whenever touching the intake and MAF. I took a look at my MAF sensor and all seemed fine it was clean and it doesnt throw a CEL everyday. My car is just feeling very sluggish. If I get on it slightly I have no problem it gains power smoothly. It is when I actually go and floor the car in any gear that from a little over 2rpms to 3rpms it hesitates and feels like it wont go then I hit 3rpms and all of a sudden it kicks hard all the way to redline. The problem is even at redline I'm only making at most 11psi. I just don't want to waste money on something I can do myself. My buddy is a mechanic and said that it could be spark plugs or a fuel filter due to they both havent been changed and I have 67,000 miles now. Could these explain the hesitation and loss in boost?

Replace the fuel filter and plugs with the oem recommendation. Also take it to the dealer and see what they say about your catalytic converter, there was a recall on them and you may just get a new downpipe. Could be the start of a clogged cat.

Sundevil07 I remember that recall coming out but if I'm not throwing a CEL for the CAT will they still replace it? Stealerships these days don't want to do a thing when it comes to warranty or recalled parts.

If you got a letter from gm take it in and they have to replace it. I never got one but then again I never had a problem with my 06, its worth a shot! I wouldn't think you would throw a code with that issue anyway all that sensor back there does is monitor if you're cat is still keeping you're clouds white and sky blue. Doesn't monitor flow or lack there of I should say

Your car was not hydrolocking....

The water from the damp AEM dryflow was messing with the MAF sensor's readings.

Whether you run a dryflow, or oiled filter you should still invest in a hydroshield. Not only does it repell water splashes, but it keeps your filter cleaner much longer and prevents bugs / larger debries from clogging the air filter pleats.
