Low boost, rattling supercharger

2007 ss/sc 2.8" pulley, 60lbs injectors zzp tune, zzp 3inch intake

okay so on Saturday I drove the car and it was acting fine. Then when I started it after coming out of a store the car idle bogged down for about 2 seconds then went back to normal. After that however I wasn't able to boost over 3psi. Today I replaced the bypass valve on it and it went to 5psi but that's it. Hoses seemed fine to me but the supercharger is rattling pretty badly and getting louder with rpm climb. My question for you guys is, would grabbing a "rebuild kit" be fine or do you all think there might be something wrong with the rotor packs or should they be fine?

Also, if I replace the bearings, would I be able to do that myself or would I have to take it to a machine shop?

Edit: no cel on at all. Noise gets quicker when revved up

Might just need couplers. Might need bearings. Might have already destroyed the rotor pack. Can't say until you pull it off and look.

If you're on FB, reach out to Category V Port Worx. He tends to have a few S/C's around. You could definitely pick up a ported one or have yours rebuilt, but I know he's had stock ones lying around before and they're fairly inexpensive.

I ended up replacing the blower with a rebuilt one and still have the issue other than the blower is quieter. My issue seems to be more than just not boost, iat2 get hot then don’t come down and the coolant temp is running 10 degrees warmer than normal. It’s a zip stage 2 kit with the large heat exchanger. At this point I’m thinking the tune randomly messed up or the pcm is bad.

any help would be appreciated. I’m lost, I do have a buddy coming over tomorrow morning with Hp tuners to reflash the tune and check other things first.

Check your intercooler pump. IAT's point to that.

I opened the cap on the reservoir while the car was on and it was running. And even so if it were bad it wouldn’t be less boost, it’d be more but feel like less. I’ve had one go before.
