Low boost fix!

Well, after the hell of not being able to put down anymore boost then 2Psi, I brought my 07 SS/SC to a performance shop, and BAM!!! Found the issue. Finally!!! Now the crappy thing is, the part cost me $447 (CAD) and 1.5 hrs labor. The boost Actuator,Bypass, and Solenoid were shot. This is why my vehicle never made more then 8psi and finally only made 2psi. Car is now running around 10-11 psi. Just thought id share this if anyone else is having this issue.Cheers!!!

Mine was doing 3psi when i got it. I replaced the boost solenoid and nothing. I unbolted the bypass valve and saw the rod was rusted. A can of WD40 did the trick and I now boost 15psi.

That is not a hard part to replace and fix. Sorry.

He was charged too much, even for the fact it is CAD.

What some of us said is far from bashing. We are just letting him know we could have helped him save some money, and do the repair himself.

Even someone not to handy with a wrench could complete this job with little difficulty. Glad his car is fixed, but I hate seeing people throw money away.

I know it just seems the same people are quick to get on someone about what there doing wrong because they would have done this or that. Not pointing fingers just in general.

I totally feel like ive been bent over with no lube,,,trust me!!! I called Dean Myers Dealership here in Toronto, and the bypass valve was $89 but the Solenoid Actuator Kit was $447. So basically i had to pay it, plus the shop ( which is a new shop i went to International Auto Customs ) is charging 2 hrs labor which i find a little much. Its fucked, im not that great with tools, but know a little about cars, just no means to fix anything, and no friends that no too much either. Most ride crotch rockets! Now, me on a set of drums is a different story!!!! Thanks for all your pitty and condolences! LOL I need it....
