lsj balance shafts
lsj balance shafts
im rebuilding my lsj in the car....is it possible to remove the balance shafts with the block in the car..i thought about unbolting the engine mount and lowering it down a lil...i am wondering if anyone was able to do this..
thanks
thanks
yes and no....if u want to fab a press to bolt to the block, its a bitch...aside the faster and safer revs has anyone seen a noticeable difference with the zzp shafts
your speaking of what you have no clue about you dont need to fab **** to press them in all you need is a long extension and a 30mm socket and a hammer lube them up drive them in and yes the engine will spin up alot faster without even faster then nbs
a number of years back i built an l61 with level zero balance shaft delete. now i did have the entire rotating assembly balanced, however running at idle i could set a glass of water on the valve cover and there was hardly any ripple in it. at certain rpm you may notice some slight vibration, but we arent talking anything huge.
No I don't know about it I'm a machinest...and the thought of a press fit well that explains it press...thats y I said that..it seems to be a tap fit maybe .0005-.001 I apologize for the stupid idea
You can lower the motor down enough on the drivers side to get them out of there without pulling the whole engine.
Honestly though, if you have a place to work on it, and are going that far in, just pull the engine and build it on the ground. Then put it all back together nice and clean and re-install. Whole ******* lot easier to build the motor on a stand than in the car and make it nice and clean and perfect.

My mistake, I meant to say passengers side. Distracted slightly at the moment. You are correct.
ok...I was thinkin about pulling it but I haven't had any trouble rebuilding the engine I bought the sleeve puller kit and did it all in the car.. The crank looked good. The car only has 40,000 miles on it
