lsj build problem
lsj build problem
I am having a really rough idle problem. I just installed stage 2 zzp cams, ported head, ported intake, option B, stage 3 heat exchanger, 2.7 pulley. I'm not getting any codes and I've got a bad hesitation coming off of idle.
i dont believe thats actually possible. the l61 uses a completely different computer, different ignition, different reluctor wheels, etc. i dont even think a 2.2l pcm will plug into an lsj harness.
lsj build problem
I put the 2.9 pulley back on Saturday and it will stay running now but still idle very rough and when I try to rev it up from idle it Boggs down and backfires out the exhaust then revs up

The tune will have to be adjusted. It's silly to even try to run the car without a custom configuration other than to obtain data for the updated configuration. It's not optional. Pulley size is almost completely irrelevant at idle as the supercharger is in bypass mode.
You without a doubt need to be tuned again. The pulley, h/e, option B, and the ported intake really doesn't matter. But the cams and head will drastically change your air flow.
Who ever is tuning you will need to do a MAF/VE blend (it's how the car is stock, but many of us swapped to MAF only, as our available VE tables generally suck - especially for tuning for cams).
It is possible, actually. I have one for my car - maybe even in my car now (I can't remember which one I ended up using). The Malibu L61 used the same PCM - I seem to recall it was only the 2006... but I can't remember for sure. I figured this out like 3 years ago while looking for a back-up PCM while trying to figure out a connection issue with my HPT cable.

I don't remember too many LSJ tuners, but ZZP picked up one of the best a few years ago when they added Al McClure to their team. Also I'd imagine since they are ZZP cams, they might have pretty decent idea how to tune for them.
