Lsj cooling mod

Ok I have my Lsj apart in my cobalt..i bought the killer chiller from Ottp..seems to be work off a good theory..anyone have and comments on this part..I thought it would work well for me cuz I'm in california and it gets to be like 105 here in the summer and I'm running a 2.5 pulley on my m62.so IATs get to be closet to 180 wen I'm on it...I'm adding meth and nos to help but I'm also wondering the best place to mount it cuz its not the smallest thing. I was thinking between the front bumper and radiator..all the lines seem to reach..thanks

Flatgod is the only person I know to make a Killer Chiller work properly. Maybe PM him for details. I don't really see him much on here anymore though. But just put his name in the search and you may find more on his progress. I know it was a lot of trail and error before he got it to work right. Here's the thread on his install

Cool well I hope I have better luck I only payed 200 so it won't bother me that much..he mounted it the exact way I was going to. It almost sounds like his freon was low

if your iat is getting to 180 i bet your intercooler pump isnt working. common failure. with the car running pull the cap off the fill neck and see if the coolant is flowing, if not, replace the pump.

I know it's workin I'm running a better pump it's just way out of the m62s efficiency..like I said 105 out side and from a stop by the top of 4 It gets to 180.

I wonder if he ran it back through his he after the killer chiller..not to disrespect him or anything. Idk but I'll know wen I hook it up.

I remeber him posting a little while back and he did like 9 back to back pulls and his IAT2 was only like 10 degrees above his IAT1. He got it figured out but he was the first one to get it to work right. Found the thread .

I used to run the "stu mod" when I had my lsj. Trust me, you'll be amazed by how simply increasing the volume of coolant to the system will cut down your temps. There just isn't enough fluid flowing in the stock set-up. So anything you add that accomplishes this is an improvement.

to clarify: I'm not talking IATs, I don't know if this helps with that at all. I'm referring only to heatsoak, which only gets worse with running smaller pullies.

I drove with Flatgod in his car, his set up is one of a kind, well executed and works awesome, not really practical for folks to copy . There is a lot of misinformation about cooling and iat2;most installs are not well executed. Simple, straightforward, fully operational systems with a good Griffin race heat exchanger and proper plumbing are best.

im waiting on my new ic pump before i do any wot pulls, might get the idle dialed in later(still on my m62 tune and idles really well on that tune so hope it wont take long) but it is a bit jerky cruising(to be expected haha actually surprised how well it did run with out a tune)

Yeah josh from Ottp saw my thread on pm'd me. He made me an offer I absolutely couldn't refuse . I'm going to start off with a 2.9". I'm shooting for around 300whp to start off with. But the more reading ive done some people have done almost 300whp without meth haha. So we will see where it puts me Running meth. I've delt with Ottp lots and never had an issue. I know others have though *shrugs*
