he should put the tune back on. Why would you revert to a lower level if you don't have to? And which one has he been running with the whole time. 60's and a 2.7 isn't a bad deal (besides the heat) but the 42's don't make sense unless he's running timing in the real low teens, which makes even less sense than before.

SloBaltS/C - If you were serious about that I can actually help you out with a tune and get your car pointed in the right direction. You are seriously going to screw something up otherwise. Pm me and we can talk about rates, if you have the money within the next week or two that would be great because I will be out that way for another client here shortly.

i've tried. he says it runs good and his afr is fine. so i'll hurry up and get this dyno day set and then we'll see what it does with his current setup, then add the 60s and stage 3 tune and put him back on the dyno.

Or i can meet up with you guys on the dyno day and install his 60s and put a real tune on his car for him . Then we can get befores and afters and I can log his idc's before after, etc.

It shouldn't cost more then about 60 bucks for a pull or two I would suspect at a dyno day. But remember they are not tuning your car, you are just getting your whp and possibly your afr if they have a sniffer.

I wasn't sure

A 2.7 on 42lbers is SERIOUSLY dangerous though man. Your injector duty cycles are through the roof, whether you THINK the car is running fine or not, you are starving it of fuel and pushing your injectors way to hard. You also probably have a ton of knock.

My SS was running a Billetflow 2.7 pulley, 42.5# lucas injectors. Everything else basically stock.. (this was when it was my xBF's car)...

She lasted 22k miles like this...The Injectors were seeing an IDC of over 100, but otherwise, he had her tuned well considering... The blowby started happening about a year before the valvetrain finally gave out, so in reality, probably about 10-15k miles the engine ran smooth before it started to have piston problems.

You do not want to know how bad my #4 piston was. The piston was warped & melted, the ringlands were shot on #3 & #4. There was so much blowby my cylinder wall was steam cut and had a big gouge in it. It was puking so much oil out of the dipstick under load, that the car literally was crying tears of oil, coming between the hood/fender, just passed the headlight, so it had streaks down the fender.

Im not even going to go into my valvetrain damage.

If you insist on stressing your injectors... consider cooling mods.

I have been tuning lsj motors for awhile now man and have tuned A LOT of people on these forums. Look around for "tuned by zach06cobaltsc" in there sig. I have tuned a ton of people in the chicagoland area. I'm not the bestest leet tuner by any means but I know what I am doing and you will end up with a safe reliable car with more power then it has now .
