lsj idle problem

Ok when im decelerating in neutral the idle begins to bounce from 500-1200 rpm's and then eventually stalls out most of the time. This only happens occasionally and simply turning off the car and then back on fixes the problem. I thought it was the throttle body needing to be cleaned but it continued to do it even after it was cleaned. Could a dirty MAF sensor be causing this? Any ideas would be appreciated.

An added note, when the idles start to bounce it starts to smell like its running rich.

I already cleaned the throttle body and it still continued to do it. I reset the ECM today in case the battery wasnt disconnected after it was cleaned and it hasnt done it since so im hoping that was the problem.

I cleaned my throttle body, and map sensor. It cleared the problem up for me. Make sure your filter is not trashed ether, these cars are picky that way.
