I was looking at the turbo kit from zzp for the lsj. If i add a intercooler its $1000 more. My question is if i can just buy a cheaper aftermarket intercooler and would it work? if so what intercooler would do the job?

 

i dont see why it wouldnt work. just get a the intercooler, mount it, route the pipes and tune. intercooler wise, im runnin a JDM Sport and only problem i got with it is that it goes up to the bottom of my grill (12" tall x 24" long" 2" thick) and my bumper cant open wide enough for it. but it should be pretty good for your car

 

the fact you are asking this question may be proof you need to do some research on basics with turbo setups.

 

Yes, you can use an aftermarket intercooler.
