LSJ Rebuild Questions
Okay guys I have a question for you. I am going to be doing a rebuild on the cobalt. Do you guys know if there is a gasket kit where you can get all the crap you need? I was looking on crate engine depot and didn't see a whole kit. I am starting with a bare block that's why I needed everything. I know with the dsm's you could buy a whole kit that had everything you need. Didn't know if they had something like that for the cobalt. I really don't even know all the gaskets I need. I know of the front case gasket, water pump gasket, front/rear main seal and obviously the valve cover, intake/ exhaust and the supercharger gasket. Also going with a Cometic MLS head gasket stock rod bolts stock main bolts and arp head studs. I planned on new timing chain, balance shaft chain, new guides, and maybe a new gear for the oil pump. Depending on condition of the one I have. Stock balance shafts stock rod and main bearings. That's all I can think of. Can anyone see anything I am missing?? I don't' want to be in the middle of this and realize I forgot a gasket. Also I have new injector o rings. Any help would be appreciated.
alot of the gaskets on the oil pan and some other areas are actually a gm rtv silicone as well. A local parts store may have a kit for the other gaskets, but youll have to check
I have the lnf chain tensioner. That was put on when my brother bought the car. I have the gm oil pan crap. I've already had this oil pan off once. The first time taking it off is a pita. It was like it was superglued on there. It took some persuasion from a hammer. I'm hoping I have everything. I think in going to start next week after finals.
