Here's the situation:

I was driving my 06 SS/SC in the rain a couple days ago, and all the sudden it started freaking out and jerking any time I fully engaged the clutch. Long story short, I thought/think I may have sucked up water, or water splashed up into the intake. But after looking around on here, I've read about people who have been in similar situations, and everyone keeps mentioning the MAF or vacuum leaks.

Its my understanding that if I did suck up water, the problem is with the MAF. But if it is the MAF, will I have to completely replace it, or is there some way to salvage the one I have?

Also, if its a vacuum leak:
1. Whats the best way to find it?
2. Whats the best way to fix it?

I appreciate any help you guys can offer!

 

you have to find the vacuum leak first, let the car idle, pop the hood, and spray starter fluid, I believe, on all the vaccum lines and if the idle jumps thats where the leak is.

 

I drove the car again today. Its been about three days since I last drove it. I figured if I let it sit for a while, any water that was in the system would dry out.....and good news, the car drove a little better. The only thing is, the supercharger is only making about half the boost it usually does at WOT, and it (the supercharger) sounds horrible. Instead of that lovely whine, it sounds more like a rattle.

Do these symptoms support a vacuum leak or should I focus my diagnosis elsewhere?

 

sounds like you might have a vacuum line on backwards, is that possible

 

not unless there is a check valve somewhere.

 

Another Update:
The car is running fine again. The CEL went off and the supercharger sounds good again. Its also making the right amount of boost at WOT. I don't know what could have caused this whole fiasco, but I'm glad its over...
