Magnaflow

Hey I just got a magnaflow muffler installed and I removed my resonator awhile back. Do you guys think it sounds better with or without a resonator inline? And what difference will it make?? THanks

Def run a resonator.

The LSJ can get pretty raspy w/o one.

Personally I would trade the mangaflow here on the forums or sell it somewhere for a dynomax super turbo. I got one recently to replace my magnaflow that had the packing material blow out. I have had 2 or 3 magnaflows that have all went out within 8 months. This dynomax will get slightly louder after a lot of use I am sure, but it will still sound amazing. It's super quiet and very very efficient, I dropped over a lb of boost at redline with this muffler, and up to 2lbs throughout the mid rpms.

Magnaflow on my lancer and truck is awesome. However Magnaflow only makes a 2.5 inch exhaust for the LSJ... UNSAT! If your going to up your boost anytime soon get something thats a full 3 inch. ZZP is one of those. Wrap it in exhaust wrap (properly). Remove the heat shield that will rattle if you go 3" and it will sound as good as a G37 just a little louder...

I think it sounds pretty good to me and not ricer at all. But I was just wondering what the resonator will do for me?

The magnaflow muffler will blow out after time, the packing material burns out and you are left will a really loud setup. A resonator will help kill the rasp and quiet it down just a little bit, not much though.

Once your magnaflow muffler burns out, and it will, go with a dynomax super turbo 27inch

It's you who can observe the sounds. Try to run without the magnaflow resonator and observe and then vice-versa. Observe what sound you like.
