I recently had a 18" magnaflow muffler and tip installed on my car. We did 2-1/2" pipe from the section before the axle, back to the muffler. It sounds good, and is unbelievably deep and low sounding but it is kind of loud, even at idle. When I had my cavalier, I did the same thing but also threw a magnaflow resonator on it and it sounded awesome and not that loud.

My question is, What is the difference between the factory and magnaflow resonators? Do you think if I got the 22" magnaflow, it would tone down my exhaust a little bit?
