Lightbulb Making the LS4 TB driveable

We all know this mod has some issues when it comes to being touchy. I'm currently using the 4950 scaler. I know some have used this to help things I've also cut the boost completely until 4250rpm and then it comes on at 20% and ramps up from that. The boost cut did help some.

I think tommorow im going to try setting the scaler to 5500 to see if that makes a difference i know on zzp's site for where they are selling it they have listed they tested it that high.

Also torque management, is this a possibility? I have an 07

yeah, keep us posted. Now that I have HPT, I am strongly considering this mod. But I have heard about how hard they are to get accustumded too.

Re-pinning, as in wiring? That won't help the fact that the TB is much larger and the car isn't setup for it. That's why they are so touchy. Scalar can only do so much.

i know this doesn't exactly pertain to this but unless you're running a 2.75" or smaller the tvs will not move enough air for you to need the ls4

thats not really true, but the guy you're responding to is definitely confused, becasue the LS4 and the LSJ TB DO use the same wiring.
To explain to the confused guy, the area scalar tells the ECM when the throttle is open X%, what volume of air should be flowing through it. If it expects X CFMs at 10% throttle, but is seeing 1.5X CFMs at 10% (since the larger TB will flow more at the same throttle percentage), it can do many things, including at the extreme thinking there is a vacuum leak, and put you in limp mode.
If you tell the ECM the TB is bigger than it really is, it will open the throttle less per the same pedal travel since it is trying to get X CFMs at Y pedal travel.
I hope this made sense....And I hope what I said is accurate, but this is my understanding how it works.

The ls4 tb has been dyno proven to make 14 more whp on a stock blower.

I think this is a lost cause. It is just too big. But I am glad to see there are some who have not given up on it.

Um..... could this be why you added your power?

I have been wanting to do this mod, but my tuner said there will be not point. If there was a dyno of JUST the TB and it was worth the money to power, I would sacrifice some driving for it. But some have said they have gotten used to it.

Staying tuned for more results on this thread.

you have to tune it to be able to have it work

you dont just put it on and change the scaler then drive around

Ok. I dont tune so I have no idea how that worked. But makes sense now, it wasnt explained what kind of tuning it was so I was thinking it only had to do with that. Sorry.

Now really interested.

eh I did not like it at all on my car, yeah WOT throttle was a little better, but driveability sucked, and for a car that sucks already (I hate the drive by wire crap). It wasn't worth it, plus ****, making 440whp/400wtq on the stocker.
