E85 - made from corn 85% ethanol, higher octane suppresses knock. some places hard to find too.

Methanol - usually mixed with water raises octane, cools cylinder temps. also suppresses knock. easily found at race shops.

On their own, they don't do much of anything. Actually on its own, the car won't even run on E85. They're both things used in conjunction with a tune to help increase power.

Yes but running E85 requires tuning was the point I'm trying to make. If you just pull up to the pump and put it in the tank without a tune, well, good luck with that.

E85 is prolly a better bet tho IMO. A little easier to get and doesn't need to be mixed

E85>Meth

I have had both and this is my conclusion. Meth was great and all for IATs and such but I have seen a pump failure and clogged line blow two motors on meth. E85 is E85 yes they have different blends dependiong on the time of year but that is not enough of a change to not be able to run the same fueling and timing and damage the motor, from what I have seen, if you run 100% and damage the motor on one WOT pull.

not if you have the fitting on the blower spacer, doesn't cause that much damage.

If I had an e85 station close to me I would drop my meth kit today it is quite the hassel and you do run into problems when your pump dies on you trust me I know from experience

E85 will turn back into corn at those temperatures.

Its not hard mix at all I run a 90/10 mix its just one more thing to worry about but it does allow you to run a hell of a lot more timing

For those of you who have had pumps died/clogs, what would you do to remedy this or prevent. Any telltale signs, I'd like to get rid of my spare tire and put in a meth kit but I never even thought about the risk of that.
