misfire and no CEL????

I have a bone stock 07 lsj with 55k on it. intermitently when approaching 2000rpm( in 3rd or 4th) and 2750 (in 3th 4th or 5th) I will feel what seems like a misfire. this is happening at moderate acceleration say less than 5 lbs of boost. This does happen very rareley like once every two days driving and NO CEL is present. If i knew that this was definetly a misfire from a code then i know to do plugs and check coils however is it possible to have a misfire this infrequent and it not set a code off? is there something else it could be?

First and foremost, check your plugs and their gap

Not to thread jack, but I recently just changed my plugs and gapped them to .39 because apparently they say to gap them at .45 which I thought was too high.

I am stock with no smaller pulley or bigger injectors yet, so far my car runs fine with this gap, will this be a problem?
