I have a 2007 Cobalt SS/SC Stage 2. Im sitting at about 300 horsepower with all my other mods and I want to throw on a downpipe, headers, and an engine poly mount. I was wondering if I have to change anything or do any work to add on those three things for more power?

Thank you

welcome to the forum

what kinda stg 2 bc if its gm you have about 240 hp

a header and dp will open the car up a little more there the most restrictive part of the exhaust as well and they are both direct bolt ons, a few vendors on here make tranny mounts with poly inserts that are vastly improved over stock and are definitally the way to go and also direct bolt on
i would then suggest getting a front mount heat exchanger and a custom tune and youll be looking pretty good

Exactly what he said. And I wish my stage 2 got me 300hp, wouldn't that be nice.

I dont think so jr.

You havent even modified the exhaust yet. You have maybe 230-235 whp.

Now, all busting a side .... please list all of the mods you currently have, and the exact "stage 2" you have (gm, zzp, ottp, etc). Then maybe I can help you out

You guys are dumb, I said about 300hp with all my other mods, not just my stage 2. I have magnaflow exhaust, aem dryflow CAI, torque dampner, stage 2 serpentine belt, and a shift kit. My stage 2 kit is from zzp. Im asking for help, not to be bashed. So if you arent going to help me out, leave the forum. I could be wrong about my horsepower but who cares. What I know is that I beat an 05 grand prix gxp with exhaust and CAI by 2 lengths. So just help me out please, im not on here to get beaked, come on now.

Brother even with those mods your only sitting at about 245 possible I have the zzp stage 3,Header,catless downpipe and full 2.5" exhaust and a 3 inch intake, and Im only hit 247 on the dyno and that was in an ice cold winter. al crap aside I would get a dyno tune done and you should be good to go. maybe put 60# injectors in and pulley down and dont forget about the cooling mods i.e. single pass, dual pass, option b, 2nd heat exchanger etc.

how about we put balt up to yours and see who gets where.
ive got a badass dyno tune.
3 inch intake
ported and polished blower with a 2.9
ported and polished intake manifold
extreme port and polished head
lightly ported pacesetter exhaust manifold
catted downpipe
to a full 3 inch exhaust.
and 60# injectors

so if your already at 300 with yours, id love to know which brand and where you got your pixie dust.....
not trying to be a jew but seriously after all the time and work some of us have put into our cars, the last thing we want to see is a kid with half of our mods saying he makes just as much power.
its a little irritating..
