MPG differences with stage 2
My mileage in normal driving is about the same. It averages 23 to 24 miles to the gallon. Usually about 23 to 23.4 mpg. If I push it my mileage goes down compared to the mileage I got when it was stock. But not a lot. When it was factory stock and I had some fun driving it I got about 21 mpg average. Now it is more like 19 to 20 mpg when I get on the boost too much. But if I drive it normally (without a lot boost) I still get about 23 mpg or a little more. If I really take it easy it will average about 25 to 26 mpg. But that is not easy to do because the car doesn't like taking it that easy.
I am measuring my gas mileage by dividing the miles driven by the gallons it takes to fill it up until the pump shuts off on its own. The DIC readout is always higher than the actual MPG I get. If the DIC in my car says 26 mpg I am actually getting about 23 mpg. And I live in one of the big metro areas so most of my driving is city. And my only mod is the GM stage 2. If you want to keep your warranty, like I do, it is worth it. Stage 2 gives you a car that will compete with a MazdaSpeed 3. When they are stock our cars go from 0 to 60 in 5.9 to 6.1 seconds, and that is according to tests run by Car and Driver, Motor Trend and several others. Stage 2 takes about a half second off of that. So with stage 2 you should go from 0 to 60 in about 5.6 to 5.8 seconds and that is damn good for the class of car we have. Here is a link to one test of the MazdaSpeed 3

This test of the MazdaSpeed 3 is typical for one that is factory stock. They got 5.8 seconds 0 to 60 and the quarter mile at 14.4 and 99 mph.
Also, I have a 2007 SSSC and it is rated at 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. And stage 2 really is about the same in normal driving. But if you put your foot into it, it should go down like mine did. Higher flow injectors with a (slightly) smaller pulley and the software to take advantage of it should hurt it some, just not a lot.
Go for it and don't worry about your gas mileage. It won't hurt much if you don't push it too much.

at first my milage went down about 4mpg, mainly cause i was having fun. right now i'm averaging around probably 28mpg, though the colder weather helps milage. just the fact that stays right about the same while upping the power and pickup of the car as much as it does, its a win/win to get stage 2, as long as you want to keep the warrenty.
I went from an average mpg of 30-31 to 28-29 when i did my Stage II but have to admit a lot of that was caused by having way too much fun. I did notice that since I did the header and dp it has gone down again to a flat 28 but I haven't gotten done having fun with the new found power.
If i do not beat on it driving on the highway it seems to recover mileage very quickly (I haven't reset the avg mpg tool since I dyno'd in August) which leads me to think it has improved greatly, I just can't stop punching the damn throttle long enough to really find out... I need to join throttle junkies anonymous or something, it's getting bad...

Thanks for the input everyone, I'm seriously thinking about the stage 2 to keep my warrantee. I drive 120 miles round trip 5 to 6 days a week, and felt this was a waste for a commuter car, but I love the head turning as it fly’s down the freeways!
Well for the first few month it went from 23 to 20, I couldn't help launching on the hiway in 2nd, the last average was 25 before she got put away for the winter..........
