my 1st limp mode :(

I have been running the STG2 since it came out as it was installed 4/10/2006 & then I bought the Pulley Boys 2.8 the week it was offered ? and I installed colder plugs the same day I installed the 2.8 and have been running it since with no new tuning and all has been fine I do have the Injen CAI

Now yeasterday I was playing with a GTO & we were doing like 35 & we kept goosing it & seeing just who had the jump & at a stop light we talked as he was asking what I had under the hood & I laughed & stated just a 4 banger & his jaw dropped & as we left the light I took off normal & then wanted to bark the tires so I just instantly popped the gas & some how I hit Limp mode (reduced engine power).

I could hardly keep it running so I coasted around the corner & shut the car off & tried to restart it & the same thing, so I let it set for about 3 minutes & started it & it ran fine but I had a engine light so I went home & started to scan it & noticed the light went out & there were no codes ????

I have ran this setup pretty hard at times but really no real racing just trying to keep it fast but reliable to.

I'm not sure what happened but dam I'd hate to have that happen on a busy road during rush hour as it would not even drive in my opinion WTF GM ???

Computers are great some days & then some times there a pain in the ass!

What do you guys use to get AF readings besides a dyno as I'd like to see where I stand as far as rich vs lean.

I'm keeping an eye on it & I'm going to drive it like I have been & see if it happens agian?

The older you get the more it will happen.

Did you hit the rev limiter?

You can monitor your A/F ratios with a wideband oxygen sensor. The plx-m300 is a pretty decent one. However, I know most of the guys here use the aeroforce interceptor.

Here is a link for the PLX

I prefer the PLX just because of the issues that I have heard others have with the aerforce unit. (not sure if its problem free yet).
Also, I have firsthand with the PLX from an earlier car that I used to own. (Blowthrough 1st gen RX-7)
