So i get home last night and saw my car was 228 degrees i know that you really don't have to wary until 250 but its 5 degrees out side it should not get even that hot i have never seen it even get close to that on 100 degree days any idea what the problem is thanks

Did you check coolant?
Did you check your fan?
Did you do anything you care to tell us besides that it is hot?


Help us help you. What were you doing, what had you done, etc.

 

coolant is good fans are working seems to run fine outer than its hot

 

This is an LSJ correct? Something is up. Are you noticing a loss of coolant at all? You're hitting 230 when? In the city? The T-stat is rated to open at 180. We need 115% more details.

 

Lsj Coolant levels are fine I'm hitting 230 on the highway and back roads i did not notice how hot it was untill i got home witch is a small drive on the highway and the rest on back roads going 60mph the whole time

 

Where you at in IN?

 

You pump might be broken, or a t-stat

 

Probably a stuck thermostat then if it's not losing coolant and the fans are working. They do fail, change it out and see what happens.

 

How many miles?

 

I'm close to Winchester Indiana it almost has 80000 on it and ill try the thermostat. but its freezing out so I'm not sure when ill be able to change it

 

It may be cold but your car wants parts. Change them or blow up. Find a garage and a spacer heater.

 

I got a truck i can drive until it warms up a bit although if it blows up i got an excuse to go turbo

unfortunately I don't think it will make it that far about 4 hours away thanks for the offer thoughand it will probably blow up before it gets there
