Narrowband AF gauge question

I bought a cheap sunpro gauge from autozone just to fill in my last empty guage spot, i followed the how to on the site (which says to connect the sensor wire to another wire coming from the pcm for the O2 sensor, this wire is supposed to be purple with white line).
Problem is i looked thru the harness multiple times to find it but only came up with one that was a darker almost brown color that had a white line. The guage works but when i have the car on it says im running at the richest amount possible, when the CEL comes on it says im running at the leanest amount possible. Im wondering if this thing is working right or whats goin on..

lol i beleave they gave u the rong wire than... look around and maby some 1 will help u on here but it sounds like u have it hooked up to ur power wire and its drawing all the power b4 it gets to the o2 (causing the CEL) . the wire u will tap into is going to have an ever changing signal or resistance will be changing( slightly but it will change) ... i would take a jumper wire( any wire) and put it on 1 of the prongs and plug ur o2 sensor in start the car and use a volt ohm meter and see if 1 fluctuates( not sure how much) but it should because thats how it gets the reading. the 1 that fluctuates is the wire u tap into.( i beleave there are 3 wires so u will only have to mess with it 3 times max...

i put mine in, i got it working kinda.... i have a 06 ss/sc, i used the blue wire and i got a proper signal, however it would not give me a signal when im touching the gas. so i changed it over to the purple/ white wire and now im getting another signal, but i know its wrong, but it will give me a signal at all times...
