Need a few suggestions on upgrades

Ok so here it is. I'm located in the middle of nowhere in downeast maine. Just got my 06 cobalt SS and of course i wanna mod the hell out of it, lol. I have beem searching around for various options and such. I have narrowed it down to possibly running a 2.9 pulley with a gms1 or going all out and getting the stage 3 kit from zzp. I would be using a 2.8 pulley on 60s with a dual pass endplate for the zzp kit.
Since im located in the middle of nowhere, im quite possibly going to need to run the canned tune from zzp for quite some time until i can get the car to a real tuning shop. I have family in nashua NH and Hershey PN, if anyone knows of a good shop somewhere around there lemme know.
Now my question is which one do you guys suggest. I have read that the zzp tune is pretty "safe" but can have some idle hunting issues. Not sure if i want to go there on my daily driver tho. Anyone out there run it for a prolonged period with no problems?
Would running the gms1 tune,42# injectors and a 2.9 pulley with an upgraded HE and a dual pass, give me roughly the same power without the headache of the idle issue? Im looking for somewhere near 250whp out of the car, but of course getting more wouldnt be a bad thing. I just dont want to turn my daily driver into a project car, been down that road with my 3000gt and needless to say its still sitting on my lawn.
