need help 1st to 2nd

hey guys, i'm starting to have some shifting issues and i was hopeing someone has some answers. shifting from first to second is difficult if even possible. i've replaced my roll pin, ive installed a short shifter, i've installed zzp upgraded bracket, ottp spacers for the shifter base, is seems as though the shifter is not being allowed to travel all the way to the left when engageing 1st and 2nd. both with the stock shifter and the aftermarket. any thoughts on this or expirience will help. i think i'm most likely going to be left with replaceing the cable but i'd like some input before i spend the dough. thanks

Check your cables and see if they're binding anywhere. Also make sure the cable clamps are adjusted properly.

Its not a trans issue?

i'm not to sure how to adjust the cables. are they adjustable from the tranny side or up by the shifter. i didnt see anything that looks like and adjustable piece? i'm so close to getting this shifting issue resolved.

tranny is new mabe 15000 miles on it. the car has 150.000 on it

OK I GOT IT. just cable adjustment. i found where your supposed to adjust the cable. set it up and now it shifts like butter. i now love my car again. thanks for the help guys. note for those who didnt know like me. the adjustment is made by unclipping the cable and adjusting where the clip grabs on the cable infront of the shifter bracket. happy nls-ing =)

Im usually good at catching these threads. My friend had a similar issue with his balt. Couldn't get it into 5th unless he tried 2 or 3 times. I played with the cable clamps for a sec and it was butter smooth after.
