Just looked up pricing too. How come LSJ axles are MORE EXPENSIVE than LNF axles?

I thought about axles, then I saw some one post something about how axles are cheaper then your transmition.
Keep in mind, if you bust something, itll bust at the weakest spot....
Id rather break an axle then a tranny personally.

Just something to keep in mind.

if you like grease going into the trans, leaks gallore, horrid cv joints and what ever else, go dss.
i ran these and they were a pita.
some have horror stories.
i run zzp axles now and they are comparable to the TC axles.
no probs goin on my 3rd year with them.

zzp what? Stage 1's? I had a pair of those one time and they were bad right out of the box. Installed em and got nothing but vibration. Took em out and replaced em and vibrations went away.

they have revised thier "stages" since i made the purchase, but they are good for 300 plus hp.
we took a look see at them one time when the car was in the air at johns(powell)
and we had a tc ripped apart, the axles are very similar, dont know why you had issues from day one but ive had none, along with many others on here or those i know personally with these axles.

FINALLY getting some answers. I found out the LNF axles use a larger diameter and outer spline. I know they will connect at the transmission but will they fit on the outer end/knuckle area?

Stay on stock axles, unless your making 500+whp, if your breaking stock axles I'd look into why the axles are breaking instead of looking into just getting stronger ones.

You could have the strongest axles in the world, if you abuse them they are going to break.

J-Body guys running the tiny F23 axles have not had issues untill the 500whp mark give or take, that is if they are doing it properly, cause again some people brake axles in bone stock cars.

Save your money, eliminate your wheel hop (most likely the cause if you are braking stuff) and invest in some drag slicks for the strip with a good amount of sidewall and you will be just fine on the stock axles.

Thats my opinion anyways.

what are f23 axles? I am lowered with an ingalls t.d. so no wheel hop. I am starting to think it is the cheap replacement brand that is the issue. Got the replacements from car quest. I might just put some stock GM brand replacements in there and see what happens.

The axles for the F23 trans, which is the trans in the base cobalts as well as J-Bodies.

When are you breaking axles? Lauching at the strip? 1-2 shift?

No in a parking lot during a burnout. to me for that. I replaced em with the same car quest ones, no burning out, no track time, I did do some high speed freeway runs with these ones, but now the passenger side axle is already getting "sloppy". The passenger side is the one that broke last time as well.

not too concerned about the warranty because I would rather not have to use the warranty if you know what I mean. I just want an axle that can handle the hp in my car without breaking. How ever if it does break I do want it replaced for free but that has already happened to me. And at that point you gotta get towed, be without your car for a day or so blah blah blah. I would rather not have to go thru that again But anyway, I am looking into the napa thing now.

I found the answer. If you want to install LNF axles on an LSJ car you need LNF ball joints, spindles, and wheel bearings as well.

if your breaking axles theat much your not doing something right

I went to the track a ton at my 250ish hp on street tires and never had a problem breaking anything. First pass on slicks on stockers and here are my results.

I think it's the shitty off shore brand (FEQ) of axle that is to blame. I just Need to get some GM ones.

ZZP Stage 3. Broke my trans a week later on a NLS shift. Purchased a ZZP Stage 2 Race Trans after that.

I mean the stock J-body stuff driveline stuff, besides the clutch is good till over 500 hp. Unless its driver error from you guys. I wont lie, I broke my f23 on the 2-3 shift, because I slammed it really hard into the shift gate too many times and broke/jammed the shifter fork, driver error caused failure.
