wondering if anyone know what I can do about this, I live in the caribbean where there are no GM dealrs on my island, I had my car shipped from miami and I recently bought the stage 2 kit but I have no way of getting it tuned.. is there a chip I can get? or is it possible to take the computer out of my car and fedex it to someone and have them tune it and mail it back to me?

 

get a custom tune emailed to you and uplaod it with hpt. or you may have to go canned to and have a pcm sent

 

damn.. thing is I can't find anyone with hptuners here... what do you mean to go canned ?

 

have one that is "pre made" like the stage2 tune. its the exact same tune no matter what gm dealership you get it from

For the short and quick of it...... No chips are made for the LSJ. The HPTuner program is the popular software on this site which can flash a tune to your PCM and the PCM is what controls most of the paramaters on your car.

There are a few companies on here that sell their own stage kits and have preflashed PCM's, a canned tune.

For the cost of dealer install you can purchase HPTuners and flash a stage 2 tune yourself if your fairly handy with computers and software installs. There are some stage2 tunes on the HPT site just make sure you get the right one for your vechicle.

Maybe talk to one of the companies with a preflashed ECM and ask what they'll charge for a preflashed PCM with stage2.

thats the thing, I'm not aware of what a canned tune is , does etc. this is the first time I'm hearing about a canned tune.. trying to find some information on it now.

if you search for it your not going to find it. canned tune is just what these guys on the internet call it. Go to zzp website tell them what mods you have and then they will make a tune based on your mods and send you a pcm and then all you have to do is plug your pcm up and thats it. You can go with intense, rebel or zzp they all make tunes and put them on a pcm and then mail them out . that is what they refer to as canned tunes , because they are not with you when they are tuning your car.

 

I would say the cheapest and best bet is to mail your computer to someone with HPT. Have them plug the computer in their car to upload the GM stage 2 tune and mail the computer back to you.

ok I found someone here with hp tuners, I asked him if he cud tune my car and I told him about this site and what not...anyway he told me to try and find someone who has a tune for the stage 2 already. does anyone have this tune and can they send it to me please?

no not anymore I moved to the caribbean, an island called St.Maarten.

 

Don't know, sounds good in theory but electronics are funny sometimes. This car has more than one control module on it and I didn't know if they talk to each other or not...

The person with HPTuners has access to the repository on the HPT site, they will find the tune there. What year is your car, if it's an 05 or 06 I can email you what I have its just not handy at the moment.

just go with ZZP or Cobalt Addiction they can flash your ECU, not as good as custom tune but will work OK
