Need some help, exhaust backfire!

So heres the deal, I have 2006 ss/sc with stage 2, K&N cold air 2.85 pully and GMPP exhaust and manifold. Since the installation of the exhaust and manifold, when i am at full throttle, at 5800-5900 rpm my car starts to back fire and I loose power intermintantly. It does this to the 7000rpm redline.
Anyone have any ideas? Power from take off to 5800rpm is fantastic, its just when i hit high revs.

well first thing, u shouldnt be running a 2.85 pully on a stage 2 tune, your at sea level........ u could run it if u were living in alberta or sask or somethin, but not van...... i thinking u have leaned out ur car to much, and its running lean.

I dont think its the pully, it wasnt doing it with the stock exhaust. I have a bud with the same pully and he hasnt had this problem.

hmm if they are the copper ones... check the gap.(iridiums come pregapped and you can't change em).. should be @.035 if bigger, that could be your problem. also make sure they are all gapped the same.

I gapped my BKR7E's at .32 last time I changed them, and I haven't had any issues like that. I've run those plugs for a long time and they work great.

Yeah, I want to pull mine soon and check, been running on the bottle for about 3 months now, just curious as to how the plugs are holding up.

**** man, on the spray you should be checking your plugs more often then that. With the old monte I used to check em after every hit... but I was also running a 400shot on the car lol

Well, yeah, thats a small bit more than I run. I just use a 50 shot, and I use maybe 4-5 lbs a week at most, only a couple of sprays. Lately, I had a solenoid go bad and the weather has been shitty so I haven't used it at all in the last 2 weeks.
