need some serious advice on twincharge kit
crossed-over, this is your second thread saying the same thing. I think you first need to decide if you are going to build up your fwd car or not. If you are not going to, sell the kit to someone who will. If you are going to do the project, then either aim low and reduce the additional mod costs, or go for broke.
The traction issue is really a non-issue. Phase5 Cobalts push 500hp and Jason Whitfield is almost at 1,000hp on FWD cars. You either choose to pay to get the job done (as I have) or you bail out before it starts to get costly. You need to decide what whp you want to put down and then plan the project accordingly.
The first thing you really need to do is, "make up your mind what you want"
The second thing will then be easy, planning the project.
As far as sponsorship goes, don't give up asking. Just because JBP said no (they are really busy with mine) doesn't mean someone doesn't want to do something.
Lastly, even with sponsorship the cost does add up which is why I say again, first you need to choose what you want.

i wish i had as much faith in my balt as you did^^ your project is crazy tho, i cant wait to see it done. on another note tho im not willing to spend that kind of money on a balt, im not knocking your project at ll tho i love this car, but maybe not as much as you do lol.
I read about half these posts...
It sounds like you're like me. You know the know-how and could probably afford to make your car a lot quicker with some decent planning, but you just don't want to spend the money to do so.
Car modifying is like a disease, if you catch it early, you can save yourself, if you go all out, you'll end up spending literally thousands of dollars on something you may not really want.
Sit down, write out the pros and cons of staying with just the supercharger, twin charging, and going the turbo route. $$$, $$$$, and $$$$$, respectively, plus tuning a twin charged motor is not going to be easy. Sit down, think about it, if you want to be faster, find a point where you can stop and work toward that goal.
You could easily make the power if you're willing to pay for new pistons and labor, but drive-train upgrades are going to be expensive. Very expensive. Torque dampeners, mounts, softer tires, LSD if you want it. Then, opening up your exhaust so the turbo can spool up.
After all this, you still might not really want it, though you'll have it and you'll be out thousands of dollars.
IF you do twin charge, stay with your stock compression for daily driving purposes.

you are 100% right man.. i feel like a bitch not being able to make this decision. im just the type of person that needs to get everything together bofroe i make my final decision, i dont want any surprises in the end, dont want my car to blow up and then have to park it for 5 months to get it all fixed. i also dont want a project that i thought would cost me 5-6 k in the end to end up costing me double that. ive never built a car before nor worked on one myself so i guess maybe you guys can see why im a little worried about this. im just getting so many different opinions that im even more confused than when i initially wanted to start this project. i find the more research i do the more confused i get.

i already thought about doing that but i need to wait for the new camaro to come out.. till then i need some fun. i cant stand driving a stock car lol, or a slower car for that matter.
Sell the kit you'll have more money trying to make it work right than just building an equal amount of power with the supercharger, plus you can sell the kit to fund the supercharger build. If you wan't to be on the safe side only by GMPP items that won't void your warranty. Other wise sell the the FWD and get a AWD since traction seams to be a problem.
i hope that if i sell this kit i wont regret it, some days im positive i want to keep it and others i doubt myself so much.
admiral jedi i like what you had to say, your right i might not even be happy after the kit is done but then i always think to myself..."what if i did it and i was happy with it?" if i didnt already have this kit i would probably stay away from it for a while, but having it just sitting around my house looking so sexy is like the devil man, every time i look at it its so tempting... i know i can easily get rid of it too but i just feel so bad sometimes.

I personally don't like the idea of twin charging. If you want tried and true power safely go with tuning with the supercharger. A 3.0" pulley with a modified Stage 2 tune and injectors should wok great. Any smaller pulley you might have issues with running lean. Going to larger injectors it's not so easy to tune because the PCM is actually tricked into running properly with injectors larger than it was programed to handle.
