How can you tell if the ic pump is working? Just open the reservoir and see if coolant shoots out?

alot of mis information in this thread, do some searching on the forums, alot of good info on here, but alot of crap as well. Do lots of research and you will see what the way to go is. Im doing an engine build right now , i ran stock springs to 7200, no issues. They are good till right around 7200-7400, anything more and you risk floating a valve, a higher rev limit as well wont benifit you with your setup, look at some dyno runs on a m62 and you will see what im talking about.

If you want to rev +7000rpm look into a tvs or turbo setup and also get some valve springs in there.

Instead of this forum bitching all the time we need to start sharing info to help everyone out.

And yes i cracked two pistons but the car was still running fine and i believe the issue is from before i ever started customizing the car as i could never get rid of excessive crank case pressure.

also 500 is still to much for someone to charge for a tune if they have hp tuners, its less than a 100 to license and 400 for there time is a tad excessive

Take your intercooler pump cap off, if bubbling your pump is working

take the cap off the filler neck and see if it's bubbling or steady. if it's steady your ic pump is fubar

I charge depending on the persons life situations, they give me an offerif I feel its fair ill accept. U can not charge a tune for 300$ if the customer can't afford it. I do it this way so the customer leaves happy and our happy that they can also pay there bills lol

An slowline thatis wrong sir.a ic pump doesn't come on till 10 seconds. And if the system has the correct Amount of coolant it'll have a whitish. Film on it..... if u want to check it put a screw driver in the filler neck and see if water rushes on the shaft of it.

how is what i said wrong? for one i never said when to do it, chances are if the car is running it's passed the vcm threshold to turn on, 2ndly the ic pump comes on whenever i want to command it to you don't need to put a screwdriver in to see if it's doing it's job you will see bubbling if it's operating correctly.

Correctly so when u commnd it it will come on. Or after the 10 seconds. And if the system has the correct amount of coolant it won't bubble since there's no bubbles in the system.it will have a rushing effect like a water rapid sort of. But if u are Low on fluid or have bubblesi n the system of course u will make bubbles. The screw driver does work and so does a peice of paper or somthing that can bend withnot a lot of force.

Maybe bubble was the wrong descriptor, but if you take the cap off that's all you need to tell if it's good or not, it'll look like a flowing river no need for anything else. The fill line is a little above the stock fill neck hoses....so you will be able to see it....

I checked it today and it was bubbling up a little. So im assuming it's working. Haha. I wish there was a tuner like that around here. Everyone in Ga just wants to scam you. Also when I was buying the zzp PCM it said my ic pump would cut on when the key was in the on position. So the 10 sec thing dosent rlly matter i guess.

pully tune and injectors exhaust and cooling then youll make some power if you want to make more higher rpm power port the head drive to ky and get tuned
