no one will work on my car!
This sucks, I have a set of pacesetter header (long tube) and no exhaust shop will put them in because I don't have a cat! What am I supposed to do now? Any ideas of how to put my headers in?
yeah, no cat they don't want to get in trouble. They can get big fines. A novice can install those in about 4 hours.
and fyi yel-low, your avatar makes me not want to post or look at a page when you have posted, it is not work appropriate..
It can't be that hard on our cars. (Don't be scared by this...) my friend and i put long tube headers on his mustang last summer, we had to pull the engine out about 6inches to get them in, and it only took us about 4hours to get it done. I've heard it's really easy on our cars
I would put it in my self except I have to cut my dp weld a flang on and then hook it all up. That's well n good except I don't know how to weld or have a welder so that can b a problem. If I use exhaust clamps I kno there going to rust over and eventually fall off leaveing me with a bigger problem
No they do not directly bolt up. We have stock shorty header I am putting in a long header not going to directly bolt up. I have to cut about 6-8 inches off my dp to weld them up

But you have to strip the current paint off first.
I did it to mine and it barely peeled in little spots... I can actually touch my header without it burning the **** out of my hand after driving for 30 min or more and only let it sit for a few minutes.
yah it does.. crazy how just the high temp primer and high temp paint allows the heat to stay in the header and protect it.. I think of it like my home made jet hot system.. So you can benefit from painting it correctly too, by keeping the heat inside the header it will allow the exhaust gas maintain volocity which, in turn, equals bettter scavange.
