Noise on start-up

Hello, My car is a 2006 ss/sc ive noticed ever sense i bought my car (54k now 64) that when your first start up the car it makes a rattle/ticking noise. only for a few seconds..It only does it when its sat a while..Any ideas what it could be? and by a while i mean like over night. If it only sits a couple hours it doesnt do it..thanks

could be a bad timing chain tensioner or it could be just how the engine runs

So not saying you guys are wrong. But i was thinking something along the lines of what rukkee said about oil..I also thought about the tensioner but If it is the tensioner then why does it only do it on cold start up?

mine was the same even after the tensioner was replaced with the new style . It only did it after sitting for more than 6-7 hours ...... first thing in the morning . After that i would be fine until the next morning.
