The clicking or popping sounds aren't damaging the damper, unless you are starting your car in single digit temps. and driving the car hard. The elastomer is pretty resilient and can take a decent amount of abuse (obviously, it's stopping your engine from moving). The grinding sounds like I mentioned elsewhere on the board are unable to come from our damper design. I would look toward a bad wheel bearing or improper wheel backspacing, on lock turns can cause improperly choosen wheels to grind away at a control arm or other suspension part.
