noob flex pipe help!

hey everyone. alright im new to the forum and my cobalts been sounding horrible. I took it in and they said the flex pipe right by my exhaust manifold is cracked. They cant just cut it out and weld one in there so what can i do? I cant find any replacement parts or just a flex pipe that will bolt on in

weld a pipe inplace(this is what i did and worked good. also less restrictive). quick and easy fix. if you don't want to buy an aftermarket dp.

I just welded in a new flex fitting
something like this
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.ca/viewit...id=71235061900
I don't see what year yours is but you could also try seeing if the dealer will do it under warantee since it is part of the cat which is covered for 5 years. I know my dealer wouldn't but some do.
By the way here is the how to if u are thinking about doin it yourself

Listing says it's for the 2.2 or 2.4. Don't know what you got. You can also check with the local muffler shop for one.

zzp sells flexpipes seperately. you dont need to buy an entire dp if the flexpipe is the only thing cracked. order the flexpipe from zzp and have an exhaust shop weld it in. heres the link.

Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

honestly down the road if you get into modding ur car ur gonna wish u just took the chance to get a new downpipe now. just go with a 3" catted downpipe from zzp if you want more power with better sound or if you don't care about sound, but want a few more horsies go with the 3" catless downpipe. u won't regret getting it down the road.
