O.T.T.P Stage 1 kit

http://www.ottperformance.com/store/...-Kit-4p258.htm

Is this kit basically the same thing as a GM stage 2 kit? After doing some searching it looks like the OTT stg 1 kit used to come with 60's, and now the old stg 1 kit is the OTT stg 2 kit. What I want to know is if the power gain on the OTT stg 1 kit would be similar to the gm stage 2 kit? What's confusing me is it says on the site to expect 25 extra hp to the wheels, and the GM stage 2 kit says that it's a 40 hp upgrade kit. Help Please!

The GM Stage 2 kits gains are misleading because the SS/SC is underrated from the factory. Most (on avg) produce 215whp bone stock. So in reality you gain about 25whp with the GM Stage 2 kit as well. Everyones car is different, and will produce different levels of power due to build variation, location, climate, modiftications, etc. The OTTP Stage 1 kit is very similar to GM Stage 2's, but I'm sure the tune is a little leaner. GM Stage 2 is know to be on the rich (safe) side.

I've read about so many other people having problems with them though....rough idle, misfires, etc.....due to the 60's running below minimum spec at idle.....anybody else with 60's want to chime in?

Does anyone have the new ottp stage 1 kit installed? My other concern is if it is a safe and reliable tune? The cost difference vs gm stage 2 is significant. It's around 400 for the ottp with puller rental, and around 800 for the gm stage 2 with install, but I would be more than happy to pay the extra money if the ottp tune pushes the limits. All help and input is appreciated!

If you want the best tune, you need to get a custom one.

Pulled the trigger on the GMS2 because of warranty. Now I just need to save up for the GMPP exhaust.

I have the stg II. Used to have the old stage I from OTTP. Never had a rough idle. Never misfired with their tune. GM's tune is ****. They set the afr to around 10:1 which is too rich imo. But if you have someone near you that tunes, you could lean it out a little and bump the timing. I've seen some cars pull hard with a tweak of that tune.

No they did not .... The GM Stage 2 tune is rich, but not that rich. When I had the GM Stage 2 tune my commanded a/f ratio was 10.8.
