Well if it is only on the cap u can be getting it from say the head hasket, crack in the head or block or some warpage. Or even humid air somehow got into ure engine by say leaving the oil cap off whwn it was raining, or u purposly put water in ure oil. . Ha ha funny rigjt. More then likely u have a bad head gasket. U could possibly tighten the head down, about 5-10 more ftt lbs when a torque wrench. It sometimes will work depending on how bad thr head gasket is. Our head gaskets are metal ply gaskets so they can't seperate easily. So try it and let me know.

so, when changing a head gasket, should one consider the Cometic gaskets??
are they better than an OE replacement?

I myself would so a cometic, but and.I say but tighten the head down to specs and after 300 miles tighten it down 5 more ft lbs and after another 100 tighten again 5-10 more ft lbs. Just trust me on this.

if you have done a leak down test, a compression test, and all past, then only other wy it can be leaking or burning is, if you have a bad head gasket that is leaking into the oil just enough to evaporate. or you can have sleeve issues. check for condensation in the oil after a pressure test with the coolant, you will find a leak quickly. If the shop working on your car is smart and know what they are doing then theyll see this quickly

Sticky lifters there my friend. check your oil to see if ur low. whats happening is the oil isnt stayin up in the lifters so theres no oil to lubricate them. i had the same prob so i just changed my oil and replaced one quart with Lucas oil stabilizer synthetic and havent heard it since
